Elliot Blake

Managing Director

Elliot has been associated with 13D since 2023 after graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University with double Honors B.A. degrees in Philosophy and Psychology. During her time at Columbia, she presented her research in ancient philosophy at research symposiums, was honored as a Rhodes Scholarship Finalist, and was the recipient of the James P. Shenton Prize in Contemporary Civilization for her writing on political philosophy and current events.

Also during her undergraduate studies, Elliot was elected to serve as the youngest Senator on the Columbia University Senate where she attended monthly plenaries to address concerns, conduct research, and communicate between the student body and the schools within the university. She was Chair of the Senate’s largest subcommittee, Health and Wellness.

With 13D, Elliot writes on numerous subjects including shifting social and familial structures, novel research in empirical psychology and clinical neuroscience, and the impact of technology on culture and minds (specifically with respect to our youngest demographics). She strongly endorses a mindset in which the teachings of philosophy, psychology, and the arts can inform and improve our understanding of humanity—and in doing so, provide us with the necessary tools to address the challenges of our contemporary moment.

Elliot was particularly drawn to 13D’s holistic and comprehensive approach to solving problems, which always transcends obvious conclusions to develop and interpret nuanced outcomes. She appreciates 13D’s inclination to delve beneath the surface and examine underlying causes behind results, as well as explore future implications in innovative ways.
